"I know what is the right for free speech. I know that freedom is a right, but the right not to be offended, I’ve never heard about it, it doesn’t exist."
Former columnist for Paris-based satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
El Rhazoui is a Moroccan-born French human rights activist. She was a columnist for the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo when it published “La Vie de Mahomet,” a comic strip of the life of Muhammad. The magazine was the target of two terrorist attacks and El Rhazoui received thousands of death threats. Zineb later left Charlie Hebdo in 2017 saying the magazine had gone ‘soft on Islamic extremism.’ A documentary based on Zineb called ‘Rien n’est Pardonne’ was released in January 2017.
